Louise Redmond writes on the progress of women on boards one year after the Lord Davis report was adopted by the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills proposing that FTSE100 boards should be 25% female by 2015. Louise's article published in People Management shows that some progress has been made although not at the rate expected.

More seriously, the percentage of women in executive director positions fell slightly in 2011. As it is from these executive director positions that people really lead businesses, this is a real set back for those who would like to see more women in influential positions.
