Pension Trusteeship
LawDeb Pension Trustees is the leading provider of professional trustee services in the UK with over 200 pension scheme clients. We are part of The Law Debenture Corporation p.l.c., which is a FTSE 250 company. Our clients together have over 1 million members and more than £100 billion in assets. Over 30 clients have more than £1 billion in assets. However, we act as professional trustees for schemes of all sizes: one third have less than 500 members, and one third have more than 5,000 members.
Our clients appoint us because we are:
- An integrated team of fully-supported, knowledgeable, friendly and readily accessible professionals, from a wide range of backgrounds offering a unique combination of business, financial, investment, corporate finance, actuarial, legal, accounting and scheme administration skills.
- Able to identify the ideal lead Director from the team for each client and to nominate a named cover Director who will regularly peer review developments for the client and be available to the client should the lead Director be temporarily unavailable.
- A standard setter for best practice pension trustee governance – as evidenced by our widely acknowledged and widely used Pensions “Essentials” publications.
- Leaders in the development of trusteeship. We have been providing professional trustee services since the 19th Century and pension trustee services for 30 years.
- Not compromised by any specific interest in providing other business lines, as trusteeship is the only service we provide for pension schemes.
- Experienced in acting for defined benefit and defined contribution schemes, registered and unregistered schemes, ongoing schemes and schemes that are closed or being wound up.
- Flexible – we are pleased to Chair or form part of the board as appropriate. Equally, we can sit on both main board and subcommittee, or simply a subcommittee if required.
- Acutely aware of offering best value and we adopt an approach which is pragmatic, demonstrates best practice and accounts for pension industry developments.
Most of the schemes we work with are ongoing schemes but we are also involved with insolvencies and special situations, and we are frequently appointed to resolve a particular client issue.
We work hard to develop long term, sustainable, effective relationships and understand the benefit of clear concise communications to all scheme stakeholders.
