Our Key Principles
Our key principles
We work with chairmen and their boards to consider how to build on existing strengths as well as how to tackle gaps and problems. This is done in the context of forthcoming strategic challenges and potential risks to the business. In this way our analysis supports the future development of the board and doesn’t just deal with current problems. We focus first on the overall effectiveness of the board and then look at individual contributions from directors within that context. We pay particular attention to assuring ourselves that the board is getting the information it needs to do an effective job and is addressing the key issues that matter.
Who is this for?
Our services can be tailored to all types of board and are not just for listed companies.
Boards can vary considerably and we can take into account the different demands and context for different boards. Our services can be applied to: privately owned companies, mutual societies, professional partnerships, public sector bodies, charities, investment funds and pension trustee boards.
Our board evaluation services can be commissioned by the board themselves, usually the chairman. Equally we can work on behalf of investors, acquirers or their agents, if appropriate.
We work with operating company boards as well as group boards. We can also look at the effectiveness of committees of a board such as the risk, audit, nominations or remuneration committees.
