-ESDEM, Evaluating Strategic Decision Making-
Our evaluation tool assesses the effectiveness of the decision making of a board. It evaluates the decision making capability of the board and identifies the preferences and decision making strengths of individual board members. ESDEM evaluates decision making for strategy, risk management and when handling crises or unexpected opportunities.
ESDEM is based on extensive experience of good practice at board level and on the common barriers to effective decision making. We can either provide a generic evaluation or, due to our large database of decision types, we can tailor an evaluation to a specific organisation or sector or for committees and trust boards.
ESDEM addresses the governance responsibilities of a board and so can be used as part of full board performance review for corporate governance purposes. It evaluates directors’ deep understanding of decision making and includes a commentary from Law Debenture. Hence it is not a self-assessment but is an externally validated evaluation and feedback for the board.
